Dragons and Other Secrets of the Sea
(VELS Level 1 – 2, Discovery)
Students immerse themselves in the curious marine secrets of Australia’s oceans by experiencing unique Antarctic penguins in this unique habitat.  Luminous smacks of moon jellies, scuttling hermit crabs and weedy seadragons are also investigated in order to develop movement, literacy and imagination.

Fins or Feathers? (NEW PROGRAM)
(VELS Level 1 – 2, Classification)
Meet penguins, snakes, sea stars, sea jellies, crabs and cuttlefish and learn about their similarities and differences. Identify different types of aquatic animals within different worlds according to simple characteristics in order to answer the question ‘fins or feathers?’

Whose Home?
(VELS Level 3 – 4, Habitats)
Students investigate how a diverse range of aquatic animals, including penguins, sharks and turtles use various structural features to fulfil their survival needs within their habitat. They also learn about human impacts on these aquatic worlds, with a focus on sustainability and conservation best-practice.

General Program
This fun, flexible and relaxed program gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Aquarium’s diverse worlds. Participants can enjoy a variety of aquarium presentations from Meet the Keeper presentations to Dive Feeds. Furthermore, the Tailored General Program can cater for specific concepts and content to be covered.


Self-guided Journey
Teachers may elect to tour Melbourne Aquarium at their own pace focusing on areas of their choice. Be amazed at the abundance of aquatic species and the unique environments on display with the freedom and flexibility to self-pace with your students. This popular program allows you to choose as much free time as you need in any of the Aquarium’s worlds during your two hour underwater journey.
