Aquarist for a Day

The Aquarist for a Day program provides the unique opportunity to experience a day in the life of an Aquarist at Melbourne Aquarium, which includes preparing food and feeding the animals.

Dates: School holiday periods

Age: Secondary students only

Time: 8:30am to 3:30pm

Aquarist for a Week

For an in-depth learning adventure, the Aquarist for a Week program includes an involved observation and interaction with the animals, as well as experiencing the huge adrenaline rush of a Dive with the Sharks!

Dates: Monday – Friday inclusive during the school holiday periods

Age: Students aged 15 to 18 years

Animal Husbandry: 101

Animal Husbandry: 101 provides the opportunity for any adult including tertiary students to receive hands-on experience working along-side Melbourne Aquarium aquarists. Activities include a one-on-one session with Melbourne Aquarium’s Vet, animal behavioural training and husbandry assistance, animal enrichment activities, animal feeds and assisting with maintaining exhibits. 

Dates: Monday – Friday inclusive during the school holiday periods

Age: 18+
