The 2014 Marine Discovery Series will bring together industry experts to provide a unique insight into the marine environment.

Back by popular demand, across five separate jam-packed nights, the SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium conservation team, T.R.A.C.K.S is hosting Marine Discovery Series 2014!

The 2014 Marine Discovery Series will bring together industry experts to provide a unique insight into the marine environment and explore a wide variety of topics including cutting edge research, conservation initiatives, while also highlighting the ways individuals can take action and do their bit to protect our ocean for future generations.

Don’t miss your opportunity to do your bit to help protect the marine environment, with 100 per cent of ticket sales going directly towards conservation initiatives.

Guest Speakers: David Donnelly (Australian Marine Ecology and Blue Planet Marine) and Sue Mason (Dolphin Research Institute)

 

Marine experts David Donnelly and Sue Mason will share the secrets on the dolphin and whale species that can be found throughout Victorian waters, with an emphasis a monitoring program for the common dolphin population in Port Phillip Bay.

Gabrielle Latta will explore the freshwater turtle species endemic to Victoria, plus how the public can help protect their habitats. Come along and discover the success of SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium’s Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Program with Exhibit Manager Tereza Todd.

Join Dr Chris Gillies and Dr Linden Ashcroft as they reveal the impacts humans are having on our precious marine environment, while a representative from Zoos Victoria will explore Seal the Loop, an initiative aimed at saving local wildlife by reducing fishing waste.

Join Marine Biologist Rob King as he discusses the effects of greenhouse gasses on the Earth’s atmosphere and the challenges facing key Southern Ocean species such as Antarctic Krill. The night will also explore cutting edge research into the protection of this critical region.
