For the third year in a row, Hotham Alpine Resort will turn pink on Saturday 6 September in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
Two dollars from every weekend pass and $2 from every weekend resort entry permit sold will be donated to BCNA to help support Australians with breast cancer.
BCNA will also hold the highest Mini-Field of Women in Australia on Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of pink lady silhouettes will be planted in a stunning and powerful visual tribute to those affected. Skiers and boarders are invited to plant a pink lady silhouette and to leave a message of support to a loved one diagnosed with breast cancer or in memory of a loved one lost. The Mini-Fields of Women will be held Saturday afternoon at Hotham Village and Dinner Plain. Hundreds of pink lady silhouettes will be planted in a stunning and powerful visual tribute to those affected.
The day will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks display over Hotham’s Summit on Saturday evening, along with a pink flare run for kids down the Summit run at 6pm.
BCNA works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs. Hotham Alpine Resort is aiming to raise more than $10,000 for BCNA.
Maxine Morand, BCNA CEO and breast cancer survivor, encourages visitors to the mountain to show their support for breast cancer and BCNA.
“More than 15,000 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone – roughly the same number of visitors who visit Hotham each week during winter,” Maxine said.
The community is invited to visit the resort on the weekend of 6-7 September to participate in the tribute. Visitors are encouraged to wear pink, buy raffle tickets to win amazing prizes donated by Hotham Alpine Resort businesses or make a donation to BCNA via their website www.bcna.org.au.
